Salud!

For this week I decided to taste an English Pale Ale by the Tijuanense Brewery  Zona Norte. This would be the forth time I’ve tried “Zacas” but I really wanted to write about it so here we go. I got this beer at La Tasca Boutique a local beer shop located in front of Big Boy  by where the old toreo was on the Agua Caliente Boulevard. I must say I’m a fan of hoppy beers like IPAs and Pale Ales so is really hard for me not to like a hoppy beer unless is a really bad one. When I first served Zacas I noticed right away the excellent carbonation that this beer had (about 3 to 4 inches of foam), its smell was not too easy to smell but once I got it I liked it, it smelled like Cascade hops with coriander, the beer color was a redish copper with a lot of clarity even dough this is an unfiltered beer; This brew had the classic taste of an English Bitter full body with good amount of hops, ahh I love hops. However my friend over here says it’s a little unbalanced and that even dough is supposed to be hoppy it needed more malt tones to it and more body, but for me this si what makes every beer different from other English Bitters or Pale Ales. I’m not sure how to translate this but as people say in spanish: In genre tastes can be broken, or something like that. Cheers.

  1. There are some interesting points in time in this article but I don’t know if I see all of them center to heart. There is some validity but I will take hold opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we want more! Added to FeedBurner as well
